How to analyze SEO results after making your implementations?

Date:

One of the most complex and demanding tasks when it comes to time and resource management is analysing the SEO results obtained through the changes you make. Whether it is the management team, colleagues or clients who want to see the results, or if you’re curious yourself, analysing whether the implementation of your SEO strategy has led to any positive results is surely one of the most tedious tasks and it often ends up being forgotten.

However, at SEOcrawl we believe it is an ESSENTIAL task, as we have to understand whether our work is having a positive effect or not. This is why we have reduced the time it takes to carry out this task from around one hour to practically one minute. Sounds great, doesn’t it? Find out all about it below!

What do we mean by SEO results?

SEO results are all changes (positive or negative) that come about following changes that we have implemented on the website. Understanding which changes have led to improvements will determine the success of our projects and future decisions.

Versión 1.0

As you know, SEOcrawl has always had the option to add annotations in the performance graphs to show when the changes were implemented. This provides a visual image of the Google updates and the customised changes that you have made.

This first step to make SEOcrawl more visual was only the beginning. We have been working very hard and are now delighted to introduce our latest version 2.0. It is a much more advanced, automatic version and is what we like to call ‘a revolution in SEO data measuring.’

Versión 2.0

In Version 2.0, we have introduced the concept of ‘results traceability.’ From now on, you no longer have to filter by URL or by keyword, because when the annotation is added, the system asks us to define which part of the website is affected.

So, how does it all work? It’s a piece of cake!

  1. From any part of SEOcrawl, click ‘Add annotation
  2. Give the change a title (new SEO title, migration, internal linking improvements, etc.)
  3. Specify which section of the website has been affected:
    1. Global change (site-wide)
    2. Single URL (one page)
    3. Pattern (a set of URLs)
  4. Select the date
  5. Save, and that’s all there is to it!

The best part of this system is that instead of just reflecting the change in the overall graph, SEOcrawl automatically creates a custom SEO report on the change that you have implemented.

Below is an example of a change we made to our ‘SEO visibility’ page. The graph shows the impact the change has had on all metrics in a highly visual way.

But that’s not all! Below the graph, there is a table showing the impact 7, 30, and 60 days before and after the change.

Now you’re probably asking yourselves, ‘It sounds great, but how can I use this system for my project(s)?’ In answer to this question, we have prepared a series of case studies that we hope you’ll find very useful.

SEO Examples and Case Studies

One of the greatest strengths of this system is its versatility. For starters, not only does it analyse your customised annotations, but it also performs an automatic analysis of the impact of Google Updates.

Our system automatically detects these updates and creates the annotation with the customised report.

SEO Title Changes

One of the most popular and effective changes that can be implemented to improve keyword positions and CTR is SEO title changes, such as adding keywords, changing the order, etc. Rather than implementing these changes and then just hoping for improvements, with SEOcrawl you have all the data at your fingertips:

  • CTR improvements
  • Changes in keyword positions
  • Changes in visibility and impressions

All you have to do is implement the change and add it as an annotation, including the URL you have improved.

Internal Linking Improvements

Added one of your core pages to the menu or improved your internal linking? Great! Add it as an annotation, specifying the URL you have improved and you’ll soon see whether it has had an effect on the results. This change can be applied to either a single URL or a set of URLs.

Below are some examples, but as I’m sure you can imagine, the possibilities are endless!

Bonus

If you work with an external task manager, all you have to do is add an annotation in SEOcrawl when you complete a task. However, if you use SEOcrawl’s SEO task manager, which is specially designed to manage SEO projects, when you mark a task as ‘done’ the system itself will ask you whether you want to add this change as an annotation. It makes the whole process quicker and more efficient. Isn’t it great?

Roadmap

Lastly, we want to give you a heads up about our roadmap for Version 3.0, which we are already working on.

  • Design: we’re continuing to improve the design to make it more intuitive, and display the results in a more visual way.
  • Analytics: very soon you’ll be able to see analytics data such as conversions, turnover, sessions and organic users within the results table. Thus, the analysis will not be limited to Search Console data

  • Automations: shortly you’ll have the option of receiving automatic emails which will be sent to you 7 and 30 days after making an annotation. Therefore, if you forget to analyse the results they’ll be sent directly to your inbox.
